3 Summer Ice Cream Party Hacks with Christmas Tree Shops

Summer is here and it’s time to enjoy our favorite sweet treat! Ice cream can be tricky to serve for a group because let’s face it, it can get messy. Don’t worry! I have three easy summer ice cream party hacks to share with you that will make your life easier and leave lasting memories for your kiddos.

1) Easy Serve Ice Cream Tin

I’m about to blow your mind with this one! You’re going to go ahead and buy the next few things from your local Christmas Tree Shops. You’re going to need a cupcake tin tray & cupcake liners. While you’re there browse the food aisle for some delicious ice cream cones and toppings from your favorite brands. Once you have your tin, add a liner to each cup. Scoop your favorite ice cream into each liner and then place it in the freezer until you’re ready to serve. When you are ready to serve, add a marshmallow to your cone and then top off with the frozen ice cream scoop. This hack eliminates the drippy mess that comes with serving ice cream outside. Plus what kid doesn’t love a marshmallow surprise?

2) One Stop Topping Server

There’s nothing more annoying than having to carry out a whole bunch of toppings outside and then having to wipe them down after the kids made a sticky mess. A simple way to avoid this is by getting a single server where you can put a few different toppings for the kids to choose from. I found this pretty clear acrylic 3 cup server at Christmas Tree Shops and what I love most about it is that it is kid proof and can be used for multiple occasions. Throw in some spoons and the kids can sprinkle whatever toppings they want and you now have just 1 thing to wash when they are done.

3) Pool Floatie Picnic

I’m a sucker for a picnic set up and will use any excuse to set something up for the kids to enjoy outside. Unfortunately if you put down just towels or blankets, once that ice cream drops, you now have a stain and more laundry.

I picked up a few affordable pool floats while at Christmas Tree Shops and knew they would be the perfect summer seating for our ice cream party. I blew them up and laid them out along with these really cool tie dye round towels. The girls were super excited for a summer themed bash. While enjoying their cold treat, there were some drips along the way but there was nothing to worry about. I quickly hosed down the floaties and laid them back out as quickly as the mess was made.
